The DVRack presentation last night at the meeting by Humphrey Cheung of Toms Hardware was spectacular. The product is definitely very interesting and I would have had a use for it about a month ago when I was working on a 2 day conference where I did a live 2-camera shoot. I captured more that 13 hours of video directly to a hard drive attached to my laptop (via Vegas's Vidcap utiltiy).

I just KNOW that the DVRack capability would have made my life SO much easier. As it was I had to do test captures checking the audio levels were OK.... and then I could NEVER be 100% certain they were OK until I eventually looked at the captured AVI's.

This tool would have been sweet.

In any case... with capturing all the video to the hard drive I had turned around a CD-ROM of the entire conference in under one day (all 13 hours encoded to WMV onto a single CD-ROM for sale to the conference attendees).
