102 New Vegas 5 scripts!

cheroxy wrote on 4/20/2004, 7:41 PM
Well, sort of new, they are updated from Vegas 4 to Vegas 5.

I have all the freely available scripts that I could find, available on my family website. They are divided up into:
-the 102 with the vegas 4 script line
-the 102 with the vegas 5 script line
-and those that will be available in the future for V5.

As always, if you have any that I am missing, if there are any mistakes, or there is one that you made and don't want available, please let me know.
later,
Cheroxy

Just a couple of things I would note:

The changes made update the import line to: Sony.MediaSoftware.Vegas. It is normal to just update the import line to: Sony.Vegas

Here's a quick list of some of the changes to scripting in Vegas 5.

This zip file also appears to contain files that also fit in the these two categories:

1) OLD scripts (for example, the "RC1 Filmlook" script was updated at least twice and the most current version is "RC3")

2) Pulled scripts (scripts that were placed a some point but were pulled by the author for various reasons)

As always thanks Ed,

The changes made update the import line to: Sony.MediaSoftware.Vegas. It is normal to just update the import line to: Sony.Vegas

I tried one script quickly before I posted the zip file, and it worked so I assumed they all would. Will that change I have not work on all of the scripts?

The reason that there are old scripts in addition to the updated ones (ie-version one and version two of a script) is due to my laziness. As a full time graduate student and a part time lab tech, plus all the vegas hobby stuff I do, and oh yeah...wife and child that I sometimes forget... it leaves me only with enough time/desire to add the new scripts that I find, thus leaving all the old ones still in the zip file. If anybody wants to comb through the zip and send me a "pure" one, I'll post that one instead. Also, if there is a missing update please let me know and I'll add that. I try to stay on top of that and add the new ones as I find them. I'm sure there are also a couple that don't work because I copied them from the forum and that seems to be problematic sometimes.

Concerning the pulled scripts... I'm not sure what you mean by that. If they were pulled because they were faulty or something like that I haven't seen anything to that effect because I haven't gone back to the threads that they were posted in. Two people have emailed me to remove a script from the list and I have happily obliged. If anyone else would like me to remove one feel free to email me and let me know. I am basically leaving it at that, if someone feels strongly enough about it they can send me a 5 second email and I'll do it :) I know that some of these took a lot of personal effort and I have no problem with people wanting to get financially compensated for that. Just trying to more easily spread the amazing scripting that people share.

I updated the scripts as best I could, now there are 98. I don't think there are any old versions when new are present.

Thanks for your efforts, Carson.

Thanks to you too, I checked a few mores scripts and they didn't work unless the script call line said sony.vegas rather than sony.mediasoftware.vegas so I went back and changed them all. Thanks for pointing that out.

Basically, if you downloaded the scripts before you should delete what you have, go back and download them again, then use the new ones only.

Sorry for the problems, as my father always said..."that's what you get when you send a boy (ie-not a java literate person) to do a man's (java literate person) job!"

:)

This is an amazing resource. Thank you.

Do the dll, xml, cs and vb files all just go in the Script Menu folder?

Some of them won't work in 5.0 anyway. For instance: in thenew Api there is the line:

Timecode() : Create a new time code from a number of milliseconds. (Depricated in version 5.0)
