I never noticed that before, but I was able to reproduce the behavior. I'm not sure why this is so and there is no way of telling whether it's a bug, since the Vegas render templates (the .sft2 format files) are in a binary format which has not been documented by SCS. Those files are located on my PC (Win 7 x64) @

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates\avi

I would suggest creating a new Cineform render template, but starting with an avi template that has the render alpha box unchecked. All mine are that way and as long as you don't check the box, they will stay that way.

Hi,

I just tried your suggestion. As soon as I select the Cineform codec and save the preset, the alpha checkbox is reselected automatically.

Post something about this issue on the Cineform message board:

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/cineform-software-showcase/

and file a support ticket on the Cineform website.

That dialog is created by Sony, we have no infleuence over the user interface in Vegas 10.

I'm guessing here that the check box is supposed to apply in Vegas to uncompressed AVI files and somehow it's not grayed out for Cineform and hence not working properly.
