1394 Monitor output problem

I'm not sure what the heck I did, but the output quality via 1394 thru the camera changed abruptly.

I use VV3 with Canopus files, so normally the output stream to external monitor uses recompressed frames. Normally, the output looks fine - just fewer frames and slightly soft looking video. Now, however, the output looks quite different. There are very jaggy edges that look like aliased single fields.

I can't find anything different in the project or preferences settings to explain this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

What is your source media? NTSC or PAL DV .avi? Or are you working with more compressed files? For me, external monitor looks like crap if I'm working with anything other than native DV, since the processor has to decompress the file for accuracy, which leads to problems down the pipe going out to the camera, then from the camera to the monitor.

Stab in the dark... did you on purpose or by accident change the preview quality setting of the preview window? If so, they will increase frame rate but the plenty is lower quality since more frames are skipped the lower the setting. So if you go lower than good and use preview or draft the video suffers some. Does not effect final render.
