15 FPS Video and Supersampling

According to the manual, supersampling works primarily to improve the appearence of computer generated animation.

Is there a way to use it to help improve the appearence of 15fps video shot by still cameras or cellphones? I thought perhaps it would help by creating some intermediate frames within a SD 29.97 project. I tried adding a supersampling envelope to the video, but I could detect no apparent change. Now I'm thinking that perhaps I needed to do something else, like add a slight motion blur envelope to make a difference.

Part of the problem is also that the video is progressive and there is some field order stuff going on within a project designed for lower field first.

Anyone have any other ideas besides supersampling as well?

Thanks.

Tom

Nope, supersample won't do a thing for you in this situation.

Vegas already resamples, creating intermediate frames by blending. Personally, i find the blended intermediate frames to look worse than 15fps so i disable resampling.

Thanks Kelly. I bet you've inadvertantly given me a clue to part of the problem, as I have resampling checked. I bet that is where the (what I think are) field order artifacts are coming from.
