157 build only uninstalls build 128 - no success

I have tried to install build 5.0.157 four times without success. 157 only uninstalls 128 without replacing any new files. I have needed to keep re-installing 128 each time I try to update build 128. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. If I am the only one with this issue I will try again with another fresh download of 157.

What happens when you try to install 157 when 128 is uninstalled? You could try cleaning the registry after uninstalling, but personally I never found cleaning the registry to fix anything that broke.

I notice that there are other versions of DVDA Studio besides the two you mentioned. You could try them.

Thanks! I'll try that. When my 157 update removes the 128 files it leaves a few of the 128 build files in. Is the newer build complete in the sense that it replaces all the files necessary to run the program or does it only replace the files that need to be updated?

The updates are complete in themselves. They should overwrite any superceded files from an earlier version. To go back you may have to uninstall first.

2 days ago I purchased DVDA 5.0, 157 as a download from Sony. It won't install. When asked to "run"the program it opens another window stating (as noted above) that a previous version is on the computer which must be deleted first. There is no previous version on my computer. This is a catch 22 situation. I have tried to phone Sony and have listened to a lot of music on my phone but no one answers. Now am sending a fax to them..but the fax phone line is so busy that I won't know when I will ever get through. The Lord is teaching me patience!! I hope this forum provides an answer!

Try installing an earlier version. If that works you will have something until you sort it out with SCS.
