16:9 ratio in a DV camcorder and V5

Hi,

I have an old Sony D8 (TRV740) and I want to output 16:9 clips which it will do. I realize I'm losing some resolution (anamorfik) but buying native 16:9 from the latest cameras is not an option. Besides, that slightly grainy look is the best "film" look I've found so far but that's not the question. I'm using V5 and want to end up with a clean widescreen NTSC DV (no black bars anywhere on a widescreen setting on a Ready-For-HDTV TV) . I've searched the forum and the answers were there but I just don't understand what's been said about it. Here's what I think it says:

1. Set camera for 16:9
2. Capture in V5 using Widescreen NTSC DV Template
3. Render as Widescreen NTSC DV Template

That's as far as I go. Is there any other settings/stuff I should know about? The end result is a full screen of widescreen TV without any borders. TIA for any input and best of the season to you all.
