16-bit vs. 12-bit Sound

If you set your camera to 16-bit sound vs. 12-bit sound, will you fit less on a DVD?

If so, it would seem 12-bit may be preferrable. I'm not sure how noticable the extra bits are for normal home videos.

this will not affect your DVD. It only affects the quality of the audio on your camera footage. Generally 12bit is used in order to support 4 channels of audio while recording on your camera. Once you get it into your computer, it is converted to another bitrate according to the destination of your video.
