? 18dB "magic hour/night" shooting correction... ?

Hi, I recorded a night scene with all the "compromises" inherent to it. How could I correct the image to:
-Get rid of a little bit of that grain
-Still conserve some kind of sharp image
-Boost what's in the real dark areas

In fact, how could I get a better picture out of that shooting?
What I'm using now is these filters: Median filter, HSL, Contrast/Brightness.
It's a first draft though... I'm gonna try the Billyboy's "fix it" methods contained on his site very soon to see if this can help in a better way.

I'm asking cause there's probably a more efficient way to do it...
Thanks.

While the Median filter will get rid of artifacts and noise (it blurs the image, so you probably want to use a low setting 10-100)the filter is extremely slow as one of the SoFo guys, said. It took 62 hours on my AMD XP 1900+ to render a 12 MINUTE movie. Ouch!

Don't forget to crank up levels besides HSL. The downside is the noise in the video will probably get worse.
