1st frame issue when rendering an WMV and AVI

Hello everybody,

I'm a total newbie to this list and Vegas Video so please bear with me if this issue has already been addressed. When combining a previously encoded 300k 30 second WMV file with a 5 minute AVI (Huffyuv v2.1.1 codec, 15fps) and being rendered with a 300k template the file opens in WMP with the first frame playing throughout the entire clip. The audio plays back just fine but the video does not change even if you skip ahead.

This might have something to do with the fact that if you move the curser to the first frame of the WMV the image in the preview window locks up momentarily and then refreshes once then cursor is on a different frame. Once the two files are combined I set the timeline to render after the second frame and the result was a normal playback. I hope this is a temporary solution and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of problem.

Thank You for your attention

if you render to .avi do you see the same thing?

no, no frames would freeze in the preview window for an avi either

if you start a new project and add just the wm file, and render, does the problem still occur?

When I tried this earlier the rendered WM file would playback on the first frame unless the starting point was another frame. I will do a couple more tests

I've just completed 4 more tests. I rendered a 300k WM file alone starting at the first frame. WMP plays the first frame throughout the entire clip. Secondly, the 300k rendered at the second frame played back just fine. The third test were an the same as the first two with an WMV/AVI combination. The first frame test rendered with a constant first frame. The second frame test played back normal
