Probably not much. However a lot of the Intel chippies can be very safely overclocked to 3GHz, I'm about to try this with a Qaudcore. I'm told the latest stepping of the Q6600 can be easily pushed to around 3.4GHz with the stock cooler and past 4Ghz with water cooling.
What does this mean to use, 50% higher FPS, not to be sneezed at when the chips are very cheap now.

Oh and the Core 2 Duos are even easier to OC than the quads.

Thanks Bob. I stayed with the 2.4 to avoid delays. Regards overclocking this is in my field monitor notebook and extra cooling is probably not possible in the field. I already have 3 HDDs in there and a GeForce 7950GTS so I'm concerned about heat and battery usage even now.

I've never overclocked so I ask: Is it just a firmware thing or do you need open the box?
