you can enable 2 pass VBR as an encoding option if you render the mpeg from Vegas.

thanks,
I'm looking more for a DVD authoring program though. I edit on a mac, but believe it or not, the 2 pass encoding on Compressor is unbeleviably slow and you can't use the chapters when importing the video into Imovie. I've found my PC to be more efficient and Adobe Encore's MC 2 pass encoding is as good as I've seen. The only thing is, Encore's prone to ruining my discs for "unknown error"(s).

At the present time, you can't purchase DVD Architect 2 separately. It's only sold with Vegas 5 which would make for quite an expensive DVD authoring-only solution for you. And, as a previous message pointed out, Vegas is required in order to activeate 2-pass encoding.

One option then would be to not burn with Encore, just author/prepare and then use something like Nero to perform the actual burn.
