2 pass encoding in vegas re-render in dvda2

i used 2 pass encoding for the first time last night, then tried to make a dvd in dvda2 but it wanted to re-render it. does the re-render decrease quality and is there someway to have 2 pass encoding without a re-render in dvda2? thanks a lot

Re-rendering will not do the quality any good and it'll take forever.
Two possible problems:
1) The encoded video is too big to fit on the DVD
2) I've had a similar thing happen for no obvious reason. Saving the DVDA project, closing and re-opening it and the problem went away.

I was putting multiple mpeg files onto the DVD, first two were OK, subsequent ones Optimise said were non compliant and said they'd need to be re-encoded. All were 2-pass encodes with no audio. Closing and re-opening project and all was well.
