2 problems: render window and codec

Hi All,

I 've got a 6 gig finished project (Avi) that when I want to render it to mpeg2 (dvd NTSC) the render window (where I can choose if I want it Mpeg1, mpeg 2, quick time,. etc) takes about 2 minutes to appear.

Does it have anything to do with the size of the file.
It is only one file, with one (6 gig) track with audio.

That file was last rendered (to AVI) in After Effects 6.

The other problem is that, when I render this file to Mpeg2 (dvd ntsc), it doesn't load well in windows media palyer or winamp. The audio is ok but the video is WAY too fast. Is this a codec problem?

Could you please help me?

Sounds like you could have many, many files in that window. Also, if you're in thumbnail mode then that will slow stuff down too.

Actually i had about 6 files but two fo them were big (about 6 - 8 gig) they were alternate versions of the avi that I was trying to render to mpeg2.

Do you think that this could be the problem?

Oh! and the other problem (audio and video playback problem on windows media) was a codec issue and it's solved.

I transfered the 8 and 6 gig files to the the other drive.
But the render window still takes too long to open. I don't know what this might be.

Do you guys had any similar problem?
