2 questions for the wonderful forum

2 questions here.

I am working on a project that will end up being a template that needs to be used in final cut express.

What it is? A photographer needs me to take a picture of a living room that has a large picture frame. This frame will have his proofs show thru it like a montage. I figured we could just use a vid capture or a picture of the room and then render this down and they could drop in final cut timeline and just adjust the pictures to fit in the frame. Or would it be better to use a green screen on the frame and then they could drop in pictures that way. They need to use this as a template over and over so the easiest is the best. Any suggestions, well listened to here. Can vegas output a render file useable to a mac? I am sure been answered more than once. Or if their is a work around? I kmow nothing about macs. here.

Thanx for any help. ; )

So this frame you have - will it be static? If so.. then I can't see any reason why you need it to be in a video format at all. Just make a PNG file in photoshop which has the inside of the frame transparent. I'm sure FCP - like Vegas can cope with images that have transparency in them.

Otherwise you will need to render your video frame as uncompressed AVI - or some other video format that preserves the alpha channel. In other words - you will setup the frame in Vegas so it works the way they need it to - then render to AVI (or MOV) in the correct format.

Thanx Liam. I am leaning towards the photoshop idea myself. Then they can stretch it on their timeline and drop in the photos and adjust. So macs do understand avi right? I know mov.
Thanx.
