2 quick questions about VF

Hi all

Just got VideoFactory and love it so far.

Would some of you be able to answer a few questions for me?
I plan to capture several home videos, edit them and then put them back out onto
both VCR tape and DVD-R.

1) When I "make a movie", there is a check box for fill frame (or something like
that). What does this mean and how will it effect my final production out to
VCR tape and DVD.

2) How many minutes max can a DVD-R disk hold (general purpose, 4.7Gig).

Thanks all. I sure do appreciate it. :-)

Mike,

Not the expert but here is what I think.

Question 1 - when you check this box, it stretches your pictures or video to fill the frame regardless of the aspect ratio. That is good to get rid of small borders but it may also stretch your still pictures until they are skewed or distorted. I haven't used this feature yet for that reason. Maybe Chienworks or VinceG has some better info.

Question 2 - It depends upon the format you are producing for the DVD-R. I'm not sure how much but I know MPEG-2 will be many more minutes (over 2 hours) than raw DV which is about 4 minutes per GB.

Hope this helps.

Randy
