2 separate video tracks have been transitioned?

I have 2 video tracks. I'm cutting parts of Track 1 to show video from Track 2. For some reason, from Track 2 has been transitioned with video from Track 1. It's a nice effect but one I'm not looking for. I don't even know how I did it as it wasn't like that when I last saved the file.

Does anybody know what I did by accident to get video from Track 2 to transitioned with Track 1 and how I can remove that effect?

Thanks

If there is a fade envelope at either end of the video on track 1, it will create a fade with the track below. Drag the envelope edge all the way towards the edge of the event to remove it.

It's weird cause all the entire track does that but I dont see a fade envelope anywhere.

Ah, different problem. Two things to check, both of which are easy to accidentally nudge. First, check the track level control. It should be at 100%. If not, the bottom track (all of it) will start to show.

Second, check the opacity level of each event. There is a very thin, almost invisible line that runs the entire length at the top of each event. If you grab this and pull this downard, it increases the transparency to the track(s) below. All of these should be set to 100%.

This is such a common problem, that I wrote a script which you can find at VASST.com which inspects each and every event and looks for opacity levels which are set just slightly less than 100%, and therefore were probably accidentally "nudged" during the editing process.

Thanks John. I figured it out my silly mistake right before I got to this post, but thanks for all of that info!!! It was the level for the entire track itself like you said. I accidentally must've reduced it at some point.

Thanks again!!

If you use the keyboard to move the cursor across the video, that is likely how it happened. I have made suggestions to Sony on several occasions that they should change how keys interact with the track headers. What happens is that if the track header gets focuses, and you start pressing keys trying to move through your video, you are instead moving that track opacity level.
