I'm not sure the value in doing this, since 5.1 is backward compatible. In other words, 5.1 audio on a stereo player would sound exactly like stereo on a stereo player.

If you have a DVD/Blu-ray Concert some people like a choice of stereo instead of a default 5.1.

I agree. PCM audio is far better than 5.1. when it comes to concert audio.

Harmy, the guy who made the Star Wars Despecialied Edition had multipoint soundtracks, since that movie was originally released with multiple audio.

1977 mono
1977 stereo
1977 70mm mix
1985 stereo mix (from laserdisc) etc........

Do you know if DVD Architech can offer both formats when writing to a disk?

Since the audio format (AC-3, PCM or AC3 5.1) is one of the properties you set overall as one of your project properties, I'd say probably not.

I'm sort of a newbie at DVD-A and Vegas. I think you just drop the two audio tracks in the Timeline of DVD-A, but I can't remember after that. If anyone here is a Star Wars Despecialized fan that knows Harmy and the group that got the movie back to original, they would know how to add multi-tracks

Most commercial DVDs I watch these days seem to have the option of 2 channel stereo or 5.1 channel surround. There must be a reason for providing both.

The audio track (language, channels) is selected in a setup menu. I haven't ever made a setup menu, but it is discussed in the manual. Look for "Inserting a setup menu" and "Button properties".

I already mixed the concert I filmed in stereo. I am mixing 5.1 in Sonar 3X and will import a Sony 64 bit wave into Vegas. The reason why I purchased Vegas because it will burn a 5.1 Surround to a disk.

I would like to have a PCM Stereo & a 5.1 soundtrack so the viewer can choose between the two. Some people prefer stereo over 5.1 when listening to a DVD/Blu-ray disk concert. Kind of like choosing between vinyl or a CD. A matter of taste.

If anybody knows if this can be done in Vegas let me know.

Have you read the manual as I suggested in my last post? I said, "it is discussed in the manual. Look for "Inserting a setup menu" and "Button properties".", (pages 42 and 115 respectively of DVD Architect 6 manual).

Reading the manuel was my next step. Just wanted to see if anybody else has burned two soundtracks. Sometimes you get some great tips from these forums from someone who has already done what you want to do.

I deleted this post because I must have some facts wrong.
