Hi,
I have 2 video tracks which are synchronize with each other.
I created a video track for every one of them.
Although I can hear both audio tracks together I can't seem to view both
video tracks at one time.
What am I doing wrong ?
Normally any video track completely covers and blocks out all tracks beneath it. Think of it as putting a picture on top of another picture; it covers the one underneath.
There are several ways to have the video tracks underneath show. Probably the simplest is to reduce the opacity of the upper track. If you set it to 50% then you will see an even mix of the two tracks. You can use masks to have part of one track show through the other. You can also use chroma keying to have a specific color become transparent to let the lower tracks show through in those areas.
Click the track motion button for your first video track and change the size of the image. If you make it smaller then the lower video track will show through. You could do something similar to the lower video track as well. If you just want to do a simple picture-in-picture effect then you only need to mess with the track motion for the video at the top.
Also, you can simply use the "solo" button for the track you wish to see. Solo the second track to see it. Solo NO tracks to see the first one. You can actually toggle the solo button WHILE playing the timeline to quickly bounce back and forth between the two tracks.
You can also grab hold of the Opacity line and with your left mouse button held down move it rapidly up and down to see one track or another. To grab the Opacity line position your cursor over the timeline, move it up until you get hold of it, by default it is at the very top of the track, then start preview and move it up and down as you wish as you hold down your mouse button.
You can save whole threads or sections of what's posted to the forums by moving your cursor to where you want to start, then drag your mouse down as you hold down the left mouse button which will highlight that material. Hit Ctrl key, plus the "C" key. Open up Notepad or your word processor, hit Ctrl, plus the "V" key which will paste a copy of the material. Save as you would any document. If you haven't already, hit Edit Account, and change the number of topics per page and to a non-threaded view to make reading, copying simpler.
I suspose you could get more fancy and paste into a spreadsheet or database, but somewhat of a pain to setup.
You sure are patient with us newbies Billyboy, but what I meant was, can one record the changes in real time; like in audio apps where you automate or record the movement of volume sliders etc. so that the next time you playback it makes those movements automatically (does that make any better sense?)
Thanks,
Randy
