Wouldn't that be more of an 3D modeling or animation program's thing?
Ken Brits wrote on 4/14/2011, 11:33 AM
Yes it would be, but it would be nice if one could just add extruded 3d text to and existing template. (If that makes sense?)

There is a template for this for Bluff Titler, looks something like this:

The tiltle is animated and very much like the original. Bluff Titler is relatively inexpensive and VERY nice.

It is a good idea to be sure you on clear ground before you use a copyrighted image or a derivative.

Check out these guys - that logo is one of the options they have. I have not used them, but others have and been happy with the result.
http://www.vipidme.com/ They have some other cool logo's too.

Ken a few years ago I did an AD for R.Ack...n, you know the guy. for SABC you can use the look and feel 3d text/typeface etc, but not 20th Century fox.
As it is in Laurence image is ok. If you need a hand pop in we can do it quickly no problem. I still have a template from Boris… Use your own talent 20CF’s are very very expensive.lol

Hi Rory

Thanks, I'll give you a call on Monday. It's not for TV, but for internal corporate use.The text would be replaced but they would use the soundtrack. How realistic can you get it?

Thanks again!

The best way to do it is using Blender, a free open source program. Many people have made their own customized 20th Century Into videos and Universal Intros. There are some straightforward tutorials around if you google for them.

Hi
Many thanks for the response. I downloaded Blender, found a template and it's busy rendering now, only 8 more hours to go!
I have never used blender before even though I downloaded it a few years ago. I have always found it difficult to work in a 3D environment but I eventually got it going.
I can't wait to see the quality of the finished file.
Thanks again
