Steinberg's Wavelab. Nothing I've seen compares.
SF has been hinting at a 24/96 version of Sound Forge sometime soon, but when "soon" is anybody's guess.

On a related issue, I'd like to be able to trim 8 tracks of
24/96 audio at a time. Basically trimming out dead areas in
a live recording. Will SF5 work with more than two tracks?

Non-destructive is marvelous for most things, but I wanna
get destructive sometimes :-)
