24p for video...

Hello again,

I was reading much of adam wilts articles on the DVFilm software and the 24p concept for the dvx100, and I have a few more questions. I for see myself using my dvx100 for video and DVD only. I dont plan on converting to film at all (maybe in the future). I want the 24p film look on video, so according to Wilt, I shoot 24p, capture 60i(29.97 fps) and edit in 29.97 since I dont plan on going to film. DO I even need DVFilms conversion software? I guess I am slightly confused. I am sure it will all be cleareed up when I get the chance to play with the camera in the upcoming weeks. Any suggestions, help would be nice.

Confused,

Brian

You might want to post this question over at the Cow DVX100 forum. From what I've read here you can edit 24p natively in Vegas, but might need to process it in DVFilmMaker. Anyways, the experts are the ones that use the camera over at the above-mentioned forum.

Hi B,

You can just capture and edit... the cam outputs 60i @ 29.97.

You don't need DVFilmmaker to inverse-telecine if you are only going to video.
