24p modes: which to use?

I just shot a couple of days with my Sony HVR-Z7 in 24p mode and unfortunately the decks available to the guys I shot for won't read the 24p footage for capture. I used the actual 24p mode that has no 60i pulldown or trickery added. What I'm wondering is if I shot in one of the 24p modes that puts the video on the tape at 60i with added pulldown if the capture decks at the college might be more likely to be able to capture the footage. I'm also wondering what the pros and cons of using these pulldown modes are quality and NLE performance wise.

Answer to question 1. Yes. They are more likely to read a 60i stream

Answer to question 2. No difference at all.

I would have thought having to record with pulldown added means encoding 60 fields per second compared to 24 frames per second into the same bandwidth could result in some loss of quality.
Also depending on the type of pulldown added it may or may not be possible to remove it completely.

Could you just use your camera via firewire as the deck for this time-since you already shot it?

Yeah, but they're in another town several hours away.
