The only format you can print to DV tape is 60i (or 50i, but I assume this isn't PAL you're talking about). You have to print to tape at 29.97. There's no other way to do it.

That's why there's pulldown -- pulldown lets you put 24 fps material into a 60i stream. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to watch it on a TV.

When you print to tape, you have the option of printing with either 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pulldown.

What are you intending to do with the tape? If you're intending for someone to watch it, or if you're intending someone to capture it and edit on a 60i timeline, then use 2:3 pulldown. If you're intending for someone to capture and edit in 24p, then use 2:3:3:2 pulldown.

Using pulldown, you will not lose any of the look or feel of 24p.
