24p properties

I'm shooting a Canon 5D Mk2 and recently shoot a wedding in 24fps at full 1080p resolution. I then convert to Cineform 720p avi file to bring into the timeline. When I start a new project I try to choose the 24 fps 720p but the only thing close to designating the 24 fps format is 25p PAL - i'm cornfused aren't I ?
What's the ideal render settings for 24fps 720p render to MP4?
Also I do not see the a Main Concept 720p 24fps output selection - is there one?
TIA
Harry

You are about the 25th person who I read online, or having emailed me directly, about this. This is as very common usability problem that a lot of people have a problem grasping. You see, that frame rate drop-down menu, is also EDITABLE. You simply ***type*** in there! So for 24p, you're supposed to type: 23.976

Then you edit. Then, you export using Sony AVC (not MainConcept, since the Platinum 9 edition of Vegas does not allow you to customize that encoder). Sony AVC is also h.264, it's customizable, and again, you're supposed to *type* in the exporting frame rate: 23.976

BTW, why downgrade from 1080p to 720p? If you're shooting weddings and you're burning Blu-Rays for your customers, it's better to offer them 1080p burns. Your camera can well do it (I own the same camera btw).

Also, make sure you don't fall into this trap with Cineform: http://techblog.cineform.com/?p=1407
