24p (real frames) vs. 23.976 question

Hi I have animation frames so they are 24 real fps, no interlacing and not at 23.976. But the final output will be an NTSC DVD. What is the best way to do this? Here are some ideas, but despite having done some tests, I can' quite figure out which is best:

Working with a real 24p timeline (not 23.976):
1) Work with a real 24p and render to 23.976 with 2-3 pulldown.
2) Work with a real 24p and render to real 24p.
3) Work with a real 24p and render to 29.97i.

Render the 24p as a real 24p YUV then bring that into Vegas on a 23.976 timeline and set the playback rate to 0.999 so the 24 will playback at 23.976 (the speed change won't matter to the animation)
1) Render the 23.976 to 23.976 with 2-3 pulldown.
2) Render the 23.976 to 29.97i

So those are the choices. Any idea what's best, or even theoretically best? I'm looking for the smoothest flow without ghosting or stuttering. I've run some tests and have a slight idea, but after a while my eyes just go crazy so I thought I'd see if anyone here had any words of wisdom.

I guess the main question is: Does 2-3 pulldown or conversion to NTSC 29.97i work better from 23.976 than from true 24?

By the way, I'm rendering to DVD with the DVD Arch settings.

Thanks!
