24p rendering problem

I have a project that is mostly graphic animation sequences and with a few .wmv videos inserted. This will just be projected at a conference so I want to use progressive output. My project is set up for NTSC 24p widescreen. When I render a file using the template for this to go to DVDA, the resulting mpg has these white rectangle flashes ever so often. Any idea what these are? Also I'm selecting 24p because I assume the quality will be better. Is this correct, or will quality be just as good with standard NTSC widescreen?

thanks,
Dennis

If this is a standard definition video display (not high def), there is nothing to be gained by using 24p.

Normal NTSC is 29.97fps. If you use 24, then pulldown will have to be added by the video player. Basically the player will be creating frames and adding them to make a 29.97 frame rate.

Normal NTSC is interlaced. If you use progressive, then the player will convert to interlaced while playing.
