24p to 29.97 field problems on cuts

Hi. Here's the problem I'm having now (I'm FULL of problems!). I have a short film that's animated, and therefore is true24p. When I render it to 29.97 I sometimes get problems on the cuts where it uses one field from the current shot and one field from the next shot. It does the same thing if I render the DVD to 24p by the way because when played back it still needs to mess with the fields.

Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this?

Why not render as just plain vanilla progressive, as 30p? And if it's 24p, then how are fields creeping in if you render to 23.976?

Oops, false alarm. I checked the couple of cuts that were having the problem and somehow shot A was 1/3 of a frame into shot B. How does something like that happen? I have snapping and quantizing on.
