I want to say that the Vegas icons are always the same resolution, (ie 32x32), so the more pixels in the same size = smaller icons. The only way to "fix" would be to decrease the resolution of the screen so they're bigger.

EDIT: I'd find a monitor that large hard to use at a normal computer viewing distance though.

Are we back in biz? The forum that is?

Mine arrives Friday, I will report back.

Nice post G, forget the meds?

I have not had that problem with my monitor at that resolution. Didn't need to disable the display scaling, either. Using Windows 8.1, but it also is fine when I boot into Windows 7.

I have a pair of ASUS PB287 27" 2560x1440 monitors and I love having the extra screen real estate. Yes, the icons are smaller but not too small for me. I sit about 30 inches (76cm) from them.

Ditto, I have one Asus PB287 monitor that I use for editing and grading, and I find it a delight to use. I sit a bit closer than John, because I would have to use my spectacles at 30" and I prefer not to.

+1 2560x1440.

ok, smaller icons, etc., but i'm not looking at the icons ;-)

I have a Dell 2560x1600 and love it. Even small icons are distinguishable despite my failing eyesight.

So. The general consensus is that everyone on this forum is old and blind, but can still see tiny Icons?

I'm not old, just blind. Can't read this text from my chair w/o my glasses. :p

In addition to the readability of the icons, to me an important additional issue is: how readable is text, especially if you use the same monitor for general PC usage such as web browsing and word processing. Or even just for video and photo editing, you still need to be able to comfortably read the labels, menus, and other text in the user interfaces for Vegas/Photoshop/ etc.

I think It requires approx. a 31-32" monitor for the physical text size at 2560x1440 to match the text size on a 24" 1920x1080 monitor

For those who have such a monitor and don't have youthful eyes, is text comfortable to read on a 27" 2560x1440 monitor? (Assuming no scaling up of the size, which I would think would degrade the quality).

New Asus 27 inch, 2560 x 1440, just installed. Looks fantastic! Icons and text is shockingly small, but readable, bright, and clear. Soon it will be an old hat, but initially shocking.

If you struggle with moving plugins to adjust properties like me this monitor is worth the save on wrist strain and time.

Many thanks to all the helpful responses! I'm planning for a Dell 25" monitor. The extra one inch allows high res and I work with some 4K stuff now so I would really love to have a sharper screen.

Time to make the purchase!

Please, let us know your feelings after the install.

Just to report that the new Dell 2515 works perfectly with Vegas 11 and 13. Also works great with Premiere CC and AE. The extra 1 inch and higher DPI makes a big difference to my eyes. At 2560x1440 the icons remain the same size.

Highly recommended!

Can anyone report how it looks in Premiere CS6?
