Ray,
I just use the network manager to access required files for rendering. I have 4 PCs on a wired network , with plug-in caddies. Sometimes the project may spread across 2 caddies-2 PCs.
If I am not editing, but just rendering, I would run multiple instances of V8 to render across the network.
If I am capturing, using SCLive, on the main PC, I would render from another PC,across network.
I recently changed my network to Gigabit and now it does fly.
