dvideo wrote on 9/28/2006, 11:22 AM
i tried opening a project i've been working on only to recieve the message, "error occurred while loading the project-the item was not found" what can I do to get this information back?
thank you.---------------------------I'm posting this again to see if i can get an answer for this problem---------this error is different from the one that comes up when files can't be found, so relocating isn't an option-----------any advice?

What happens if you double click on the veg file in Windows Explorer, without opening Vegas? Does this open Vegas and load the file?

Did you try what pathlight said in the previous post? What happened before it became unusable? Did you try the backkup veg file?

with all methods of opening the project, this error message comes up.

the version of the project that i saved before this one opens, but i need the latest version with all of the additional work done in it.
Neither renaming, nor moving the file helped with opening it. Any more suggestions?

Did you try just opening the veg file that is named exactly the same as the one that won't open but looks like "project name.veg.bak". Just remove the .bak and see if it will work. It is just the previously saved version of your file. For instance. If I saved something and then did 2 more minutes worth of work and then saved again, the .bak file would be the one that was saved right before I saved the 2 minutes worth of work. This is not a file you made, but a backup file that vegas makes. Try that.
