3 Gun matches to YouTube

Hello everyone,
I have been shooting 3 Gun matches for the past few years and I enjoy filming and uploading them to YouTube. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD 11 to do this. My camera is a Sony HandyCam, I can't remember the model but I am filiming on the highest quality setting at 60FPS (or is it Actually 59.9949 or something?).

When making my videos in SVMS11, I would set the project to match the source media. That would work ok but I would get severe ghosting issues. I painstakingly discovered that turning the resampling to off, it solved that issue (painstakingly because I had my clips already chopped up, in essence having to disable each individual clip one-by-one, something like 60 of them).

I sometimes like to do slow motion sequences because sometimes we are moving so fast its hard to tell what we are really doing, or becasue it shows off the weapons action in slow motion. I acheive this (right or wrong) by holding cntrl and dragging the clip out. This is the only way I've discovered to get a decent slow motion effect. It looks ok, maybe a bit choppy, but smooth enough to not degrade the viewer's experience.

Next I am curious which is better, uploading directly to YouTube through SVMS11, or first rendering to my computer via some settings, then uploading to YouTube. I have tried both ways and not sure that I can tell a difference. Also, my project settings are at 60fps, do I need to render to 30fps for YouTube?

These are a few examples of my videos. Please excuse the music and strong language, I sometimes pick the music as a joke.

Here is my latest one, uploading from SVMS11 directly to YouTube, project settings at 60FPS, and resampling turned off for each individual clip.

Here's an older one, I'm not real sure of the settings but I know resampling is the default, smart. Some ghosting may be seen.

And another one.

As you can see the first video I posted is a montage of the other videos. Some ghosting may be seen in the early videos. I first uploaded the motage a few days ago and the ghosting and 'blurring' was terrible. I learned about disabling the resample and that seemed to help, I am just wondering if there are any other tips I can do that might bring my videos to the next level? (Other than hiring a professional videographer or dropping some serious jack on a camera).

I know this question has probably been beaten to death, so any help is appreciated.

One last question, would I benefit any if I bought the newest Sony Vegas Movie Studio? or is 11 probably good enough for what I do?

My ultimate goal is to shoot matches and video other competitors and make videos of them, for them. And get paid to do it, either with cash or ammo. :)

Thanks!

Wormy
