3 hours to sync video with audio multicamera

I just bought the upgrade to Vegas movie 14. A few days ago, I tried to sync 4 video segments (each on their own video/audio tracks) of 25 minutes each with a separate audio track using Movie Studio 14. It took 2-3 hours to do the audio sync and then reported 7 events could not be aligned. Then it crashed. Today, I tried it again. I didn't do anything else with the PC and waited patiently as it tried to sync. It took 3 hours and then reported "10 events could not be aligned with the reference event". Is this abnormal? I also downloaded a trial version of Cyberlink Power Director because I read it has multicam features. It synced it correctly in less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately it seemed to put such a load on my laptop (a pretty high powered gaming laptop) that I gave up on it.The preview videos wouldn't move. Have others been having similar problems with multicams on Vegas Move 14 or am I doing something wrong? I never had performance problems when using the previous Vegas 11.Thanks for any info.

All the tracks at once. Four tracks with video and audio and one track audio from a recorder. The laptop has experienced few issues of locking up but yesterday, after trying this sync, I couldn't get it to shut down. Finally did a hard shut down which is very rare.

Thanks for your reply. I just put in the external audio and one video track. It's taken 45 minutes so far. It's hard to imagine that can be normal?.....Sidenote. It finally finished but gave only the message "failed to sync 3 events"

Have you seen my tutorial on multicam editing? It shows you how to very simply sync and edit your video in Movie Studio 14.

Actually, I did see both parts before my last attempts. I'm going to look at them again. BTW, I tested my trial version of Cyberlink power director today and synced 4 vids and and an extra audio track in a little over a minute ( it had other problems though). The huge time to sync in MS16 (if it works) is a big problem.

I looked at your video again. You're manually syncing the tracks (something that's been a major headache for me for years). I need to know if others have been able to do complete projects where the program syncs the videos to an audio track and then uses Multicam Designer as intended. Are you out there. I don't even get 1/8 of the way through.

There is a max of tracks you can use for multicam editing.
The only possibility you have to use them at once is 3 videotracks with 1 audio track in your case.
I advice you to do the sinc with your audio track and 1 other track with the audio from a grouped video/audio. The video part together with the audio part get sinced while they are grouped.
Let it stay on the tracks after sincing and than choose another grouped only audio track, a.s.o.

In Steve G's video explaining the multicam function of ms14 He shows using 4 vids and one master audio. Are you certain only 3 video tracks are allowed?

4 tracks are allowed overall.
