I HAVE printed out the manual and looked for the answer to my question...BUT...

I have a 31 second clip that I need to play in a 29 second time period...can't trim it...I know there's an easy way to do this, but I can't seem to find the manner in which to do so...

As you may have guessed, I a very new, newbie...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated..

Hold down the CTRL key while resizing the clip. This will speed it up a little bit so you may need to turn on resample for this clip.

Exactly. You hold "ctrl", put your pointer (arrow) on one of the clip's edges, you'll see a little kind of square appearing with a little kind of wave right on the side. You left click and hold the pointer while dragging to the desired lenght of time. To resample: right, click into the clip, go to "switches" and select "resample".

If you are very new to the program, you should do the basic tutorial. Doesn't take that long for what you'll learn. You'll go through all these little tricks that can make you start on the right foot...
