With waveform monitor (WFM) on view (under 'scopes), and a project having both HDV (m2t) and SD (DV) media, no FX but some pan&crop, tried playing with the 8-bit/32-bit project setting. For the SD under both 8 and 32 bit, very little change on the WFM (as you'd expect) with levels ranging 16-255 (approx), as is normal for many camcorders. However for the HDV, when 32 bit was selected the levels became stretched e.g. to start from 0 instead of 16 and consequently the preview looked more contrasty, as compared (of course) to the 8-bit processed HDV. Presumably a bug.
