365 Hub - Stock Music and Video license?

mofobo wrote on 9/14/2021, 1:25 PM

Hi all.
I've noticed quite a few of the stock music included in the Vegas 365 subscription for V19 are also featured on Artlist.io.
As far as I know, if making YouTube / online videos, using such audio requires license information to be added to video descriptions etc. I'm not finding any of this information or where to obtain such information through Magix.
Bit concerned about using stock music / video if it's easily claimed by a third party and us creators having no documentation to prove that we have permission to use the music / video in question.
Am I missing something here? Are the written licenses available and I just haven't located them?

The EULA that you agreed to when installing VEGAS Pro 19 has the details for what you can and cannot do with the stock footage available via VEGAS Content. If you install a trial of VP 19, you can read (the second section), which contains the details. (The EULA is also available in the program files directory where VEGAS is installed.)

In general, you should be able to use anything available in VEGAS Content royalty free.

Thanks Derek.

From the EULA, I extracted this:
"Also, this License allowed you to use our audio clips in YouTube videos, but since we are not associated with YouTube, we cannot prevent other people from incorrectly claiming that your video violates a copyright. If you get such a claim, let us know, and we will make our best efforts to help you resolve the problem."

Is there a direct contact email if we need to get in touch or do we post to forums?

Thanks again.

I would suggest going to one of the websites listed at the beginning of that section of the EULA (storyblocks.com would be my choice) if an issue should arise. To my knowledge, no issues to this point have arisen.
