Is there a way to rotate the picture around the X axis or Y axis in Vegas Video 3?

One of the guys at the www.creativecow.net VV3 forum showed how to "simulate" a 3d rotation around the Y axis by deforming and "squashing" the images. They have a pretty cute tutorial for this.
