3D FX in Vegas Movie Studio

Just got the upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio.
The noticeable difference is that there are finally 3D FX available.

However, I'm trying to use one where the next video is flying in but the screen that is flying in is black. How can I get the Video that I'm transitioning to visible in that window?

I'm not looking at the screens at the moment, but on some of them there is a transparent background at different stages of the 3D transition. At least on my installation, it will transition to the 2nd clip, but if I don't have anything "underneath" the 2 clips that are part of the transition, then part of the transition is just plain black.

Does that make sense? Is that what you're seeing?

I played a little with this today. The best method I found was to put the background (static or clip, as you wish) on the bottom (main) video track. Then put your 2 events that you want to swap with a 3d transition on the track above them with no transparency. That way when the events on the upper track fly in and out, the event on the bottom track is visible as a background during the transition.
