3d in vegas vs after effects

dvideo wrote on 4/10/2006, 1:12 PM
when you take an image in after effects and move it on an angle from the distant left to the front right, it fades in from the furthest possible distance which the 3d effect implies. When trying to do this in vegas, the image is cropped because it is not the whole frame that is being moved with text, rather the frame(the frame in the event window) is sliding over the text showing placement. How can this be avoided------try 3d in vegas, put text on an angle and try to move it into the distance, you will notice it will become abruptly cropped------how can this be corrected?
thank you

All you need to do is enlarge the 3D space to expand beyond the borders of the frame. It's easy, and only requires a drag of the target.

I take it that you never sent the .veg file- send the veg file to DSE or email me the veg file and I will show you... a picture is worth a thousand words!

amen. dvideo, I've described it in detail in more than one thread on more than one forum. I'm happy to work with your veg, as is jazz. Beyond describing it in detail here so many times, the next recourse is to suggest you buy a training video or training book that comes with a veg to show you how to do it.
Beyond the previous posts, I'll suggest again;
Hover your mouse over one of the 4 corners of your 3D target after you've tilted/positioned it. Your cursor turns to a circle. Click/drag. that makes it bigger. Extend it beyond the frame boundary. Done.

yes, i appologize for the repeated question-----it seems however, by following your advice, the text becomes pixelated, even when decreased in size in the pan/crop window----i'll figure it out.

As I explained both here and in the other forum/threads, you need to reset the size of your text to 1440 x 960 or 1440 x 1080, depending on your project

Reading this thread, I realized I read many of the threads looking for tips and hints in using Vegas.

Is there a list somewhere of the many great tips that have been compiled from users in one location that can be read?

When I find something that's interesting (to me), I simply bookmark it giving it a title like "color correction" or "bubble fx" or "how to ..." ...

So maybe a good starting point for a newbie would be to use the Search engine, looking for all the most relevant topics then bookmark the links with comprehensive personnal names ?
