Bluff fits your bill for good, inexpensive and 3d. It does a lot more than titles...it can serve as a quick particle generator as well.

I think the only thing cheaper then that & does (at least) as much is blender.

but bluff is WAY easier to use.

They way Bluff handles cube maps is excellent
I bought it because it was cheap and cheesy or so I thought the way you use color is up to you
I have since developed a little respect for Bluff

Try Boris graffiti it has a very quick and has accurate bitmap to vector extrusion and tiff mapping for branding etc

Bluf Titler is awesome and ridiculously affordable. You can do plenty with BF, particle stuff, 3D, etc. I was looking at the 3D stuff from Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended and it is about $1000. You can very easily do similar things with BF for about $50 (price 2 years ago) and a lot faster. BF comes with hundreds of templates you can easily edit for your needs. The only problem is that it doesn't work within Vegas - yet.
