3D vegas 5 feature questions

I have a 4 second intro that I am currently working on. I have a few tracks with text that move around in 3D space. I changed my tracts to 3D source alpha. Is there a way to have the track 3D without being "source alpha?" In other words can I make the text move around without it blocking out something behind it, thus having both show up? I can't seem to figure that out.

Another problem I am having is render time. I can render my 4 second project to RAM in about 2 minutes with all this 3D movement. When I try to render as anything else it gets to about 25% in 24 hours. I have never had anything take 100th that long. What could be the problem. By the way, each track only has generated text with no effects other than the 3D source alpha for the track.

thanks,
Cheroxy

Create the text track and then parent it to a track above with nothing on it. That should fix your problem.
Render the 3D sections to a new track, then delete or disable the 3D tracks from your project. This is a known issue that hasn't been dealt with yet.

Thanks, that seems pretty clever. I'll have to try both of those.

Spot, when you say,"disable the 3D tracks from your project . . " that would be Mute . .yes? - G

yes, Mute will work. I actually delete them, myself, and save as a new project.
