3MB mp3 causes menues to become huge

When I add a backgound audio file (3 MB mp3) to a menu using a stock theme - album - all 5 menus become 254MB in size taking it over the 1GB limit. If i remove the 3mb audio everything works.

What am I doing wrong

Don't use MP3 audio. Use AC3
