3rd party access to MXF codecs

Vegas Pro 9 lists two MXF formats: one with MPEG HD codec and one with MPEG HD422 codec. In After Effects CS4 I am able to import Vegas renders using the MPEG HD codec, but not renders using the MPEG HD422 codec. Why is this? Is there a way for me to install the MPEG HD422 so that 3rd party tools can open HD422 renders?

To answer my own question, After Effects CS5 supports MXF HD422.

Up to CS4, you had to shell out extra cash for a MainConcept MXF plug in to effectively utilize high bit rate XDCAM HD422 MXF files.
