4 video tracks - im stuck

Hi,

Im filmed a friends wedding on the weekend and and Im now editing it in vegas. I have a few mintues of 16:9 film where the couple, best man and brides maid are signing the certificates at the alter.

Rather than have 4 minutes of them signing sequentially which is how the tape is. I want to have 1 minute of them signing simultaneously. So a quarter of the screen each. (left center left, center right, right) X X X X

I have 4 video time lines (one of each person signing). I thought I could do this with the crop tool where I want the left 25% of the top track, the center left 25% of the 2nd track .. and so on. but it stretches the video..

what is the best way to achieve this ?

Regards
JC

The easiest way is to use track motion to adjust the size of the video and then drag that to the area on the screen you want it to occupy. Do this for each of the four video tracks. Make sure to leave the "lock aspect ratio" button depressed.

Good luck.

After you crop to just the section of each clip you want, use Track Motion to reduce & position each track to it's own corner. If you want the entire clip shown then skip the Pan/Crop step.

You can find pre-built veg files for this on the Sundance site, you can also use Ed Troxel's Tsunami to do excellent layouts for this. (ala Brady Bunch)
