Anyone else noticed a severe dropoff in performance with 48kHz project settings? I just upgraded from Vegas2 a week ago and was doing a mix today to layback to Digital Beta at 48k. Running one video track and 6 audio tracks I encountered severe stuttering. Started changing system settings, buffers, etc., becuase I had just completed a 32 track mix for radio with no problems. After nothing helped, I realized this was my first project at 48k, switched the project rate to 44.1 and everything was cool. Makes no sense!!! All of my source tracks came from DigiBeta at 48k so data rate from the hard drive hadn't changed. Plus the CPU now has to do sample rate conversions on the fly for all the tracks. THIS SHOULD BE HARDER FOR IT TO DO! I've also done 12 tracks at 44.1, 24 bit with no problem.(haven't pushed it hard eneough to see where the system would choke, but 12 24bit tracks was nothing) The performance dropoff at 48k has me baffled.
Using Delta 66 card, same problem with WDM and ASIO drivers. Both drivers work great at 44.1.
