5.1 Config Confusion

Excited by the possiblities of creating some 5.1 media using my new VV4, I went out and bought Soundblaster's Audigy2 card and a 5.1 receiver.

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to get more than FL and FR audio through the digital connection to the receiver. Is that possible? If I wire the Audigy to the receiver using analog (the receiver has one input for each channel) I can manipulate the 5.1 in Vegas as expected.

Using Creative's Device Control app, I can switch between the two "Decoder" options with no apparent change.

I'm using the latest Creative drivers and apps.

You should be able to get full 5.1 going to the reciever, have you set the channels and the ASIO drivers up in the Options/Properties/Audio Devices menu?

If so, try adding the same WAV file to the time line twice, goto properties, then select 5.1 instead of stereo on the audio tab, double click on the joystick sqaure to make it bigger and move the centre speaker level up about 30% and move the small diamond to the centre of the square
Then double click on the second tracks joystick to make it bigger, at the top right click on the LFE button (small 4 pointed square),this will change that audio track to LFE only and you should see the LFE levels in the master mixer at the bottom,
