5.1 Monitoring Setup Guide

Hello,

I want to move to a 5.1 monitoring setup for AV projects and want to make sure I have got all the bits.

I am thinking of the M-Audio Studiophile KX4 5.1 monitor setup and the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 as I would like the MIDI interface for a keyboard.

The monitor sub takes takes 6 x TSR inputs from the sound card can anyone help with how this connects to the sound card, I can't work it out from the web stuff, do I need an external 5.1 decoder here?

Any recommendations on other combo's appreciated.

Cheers, PAW

Vegas does not stream AC3 encoded surround audio. You must use a card that has 6 outputs in order to monitor surround audio.

Skip the Audiophile and opt for the Delta 410. Then you can get the Uno midi to USB connector.
I've got the Uno and I find it works very well.

Thanks PCH

and MyST, too late though I am noe the proud owner of the M-Audio LX4 5.1 monitors and the Delta 1010LT.

Please don't tell me I should have still chosen the 410.........

First impressions are superb but then again kid with a new toy......

first impressions can be deceptive.

Everything works fine except if I configure Vegas for ASIO, the channel mappings go to pot.

It can be OK and then it routes the FL to the centre or surround and the FR to the SR.

Is this jut me or does anyone else have this problem with the Delta 1010LT and ASIO?
