5.1 not working - missing ?

Hey,

So I seem to have my 16:9 stuff working. I had some sounds effects that I was using a simple pan to go left and right on. I want to try to produce this with 5.1 . So, I have, and the dot swings around the box for the voice overs and effects like it is supposed to.

I render out separate ac3 and mpeg2 files for architect. I bring them into Architect and render the project. When I take it into my theater and set up up Yamaha 5760 to Cinematic decoding, the sounds don't seem to be located aurally where they should be. More like an everything in the center mix. The simple pans in stero worked, but this doesn't.

Could there be a simple setting somewhere I am missing? I think I set it to 5.1 surround everywhere I could.

Thanks!

sj

Did you choose the 5.1 ac3 file in DVD Architect when you authored? Are you sure you rendered 5.1 ac3 files?

Hey,

Think I found it. I have 4 tracks of audio. The first has no surround. The second has surround keys that work. The third, with the efx, has surround keys. I can key all day long, and they don't stick. ie. I move the panner, and key, and then the center just stays where I put it.

Any clues?

I think this was it. The little automation gear.
