I'd like to experiment with 5.1 sound mixing. I was told that vegas 12 does not support live preview of 5.1 sound in a digital stream...
I mean that if I connect my audio amp with the computer with a coax cable with a digital signal, during editing I will not get the 5.1 sound in the coax cable. It seems that Vegas does not encode digital audio in real time.
I was told that I need an audio card that have 6 discrete audio channels, and that I need an amp with 6 separate audio input channels.
Is it correct ?

If yes, I need an audio card with 6 discrete audio channels. And since I edit with a notebook I need an usb audio card with separate output. Do you know any of them that is compatible with Vegas ?
