5.1 Surround?

I have Vegas Movie Studion 6.0. The manual says that you can set up a surround format. If I follow the directions there is no option for the setup. I want to be able to have more then just the front speakers working on my surround sound when I watch a video created using this program. Anyone had this problem or know how to solve it?

hi there,
i am not 100% sure with vegas movie surround ! but an idea!
for surround with Acid music studio 6.0 I goto:
options> preferences>audio / audio device type >click the dropdown box. In the dropdown box look for "Direct Sound SURROUND MAPPER", it is part of microsoft Direct X 9.
The Direct Sound surround mapper will only work with motherboards that have on-board / internal support for surround.
99.9% of all the 5.1 soundcards wont work because they only decode surround and eaisly lisenced for plug in use..
Professional A /V editing programs such as sony, wavelab, protools that feature DOLBY 5.1 also en-code, giving the surround.
surround en-coding is complex and needs to operate internal with the OP system and inside the editing program.

sorry, its a bit much to explain in words!!
